*Welcome*
In the deeply personal nature of relational healing, it is important that we build a transparent and trusting relationship. I'd like to lead in that by sharing more about myself.
As a Queer, Neurodivergent, Puerto Rican, Transracial Adoptee, I am passionate about exploring intersecting identities and how these parts impact our relationships with ourselves and others. I am highly collaborative and seek to make a space that feels safe and liberating. My role is to support and steward you on your path to understanding and change.
I am a relational and systemic therapist that believes people don't heal in a bubble, we heal in relation to one another and the systems in which we are a part of. I work with individuals, couples, and families struggling with challenges such as individual/generational trauma, sex/intimacy, adoption/fostering, attachment/adjustment, multiracial couples/families, neurodivergence, and LGBTQIA+ challenges.
In addition to working in private practice, I am a full-time Family-Based Therapist serving families throughout Philadelphia. After working in family support for ten years, I graduated from Drexel University with my Masters of Family Therapy in 2021. I utilize a trauma-informed approach and draw from therapeutic models including Attachment-based, Experiential, Emotion-focused, Contextual, ESFT, and was trained in Person of the Therapist under founder Dr. Harry Aponte. I am also a 200 hr Registered Yoga Teacher, teaching classes independently as well as through a local non-profit called Yoga 4 Philly.
I offer sliding scale services at the suggested fees listed below. Please note, depending on availability, client need, and client-therapist alignment, I may accept clients at a lower rate than provided. This can be discussed during our initial consultation phone call.
I am also available for guest lecturing and speaking engagements. Please reach out to me directly at jamiemlmft@gmail.com for inquiries.
